KEMPTY FALL

About 14kms from Mussoorie and the natural waterfall is known as Kempty fall is the popular tourist attraction of Mussoorie and is visited by a number of tourists around the year. The visitor can hire a cab to Kempty from Mussoorie library chowk to reach Kempty fall. It is a must-visit destination for tourists/visitors visiting Mussoorie. The water falling from 40ft. makes a pond around the fall making it more scenic.

GUN HILL

This spot is also a favorite among the visitors/tourists which makes it a top tourist destination in Mussoorie. This is the second-highest pt. in Mussoorie. You can reach the top by ropeway or either by trekking for 30mnts from the mall road. On reaching the top of Gun Hill use one of the telescopes to get beautiful views of the mountain peaks and nearby Himalayan ranges. In British times the gun placed on the hill was used to fire in the afternoon to let the people know the time and adjust their watches accordingly.

MALL ROAD

The heart of the queen of hills the beautiful Mall Road is also the shopping attraction/location for the visitors as it stretches from Picture Palace to the Library. The road provides picturise and side of Mall Road make it even more beautiful during the evening and night time. The game parlors and skating rinks are surely to catch children’s attention. Tourists can also enjoy food and snacks at the various big and small restaurants and cafes are on both sides of Mall Road. LAL TIBBA

This means the RED HILL and this is the highest pt. in Mussoorie. All broadcasting stations of All India and Doordarshan are located here. Indian army is also stationed here. The visitor tourist/visitor can take the panoramic views through an old telescope on top of the 20mt tower at the edge. Being the highest peak in Mussoorie this tourist destination gives a divine view of the mountains. It is believed that the holy shrines of Kedarnath and Badrinath can be seen through a Japanese telescope placed at the edge. Just two hours walk from Landour Bazar will take you to the highest pt. of Mussoorie, spending half a day for a hike through Landour to this peak is worth your time spent.

COMPANY GARDEN

This is the most perfect picnic spot of Mussoorie and is maintained well by the municipal corporation. The company garden welcomes people of all ages, especially children. The garden is surrounded by beautiful mountains on the outside. There is a lovely lake with the facility of paddled boating. The garden also has a small but pleasant waterfall inside. By paying you can have rides in the park such as Columbus, baby train, and swing chair which the kids are sure to have a good time with. A food court is also inside the premises which offers various eatables to the visitors/tourists. The company garden is a perfect family garden also as you can enjoy with your family will little kids around in this park/garden. The municipal corporation has grown diverse species of flowers and plants in the garden. A wax museum is also added to the garden. The visitors can also dress in traditional clothes and take pictures for a memory of a lifetime. The museum is called Dev Bhoomi Wax museum and is the third such museum in the country, the other two are in Tamil Nadu and Lonavala (Maharashtra). Statues of great personalities like Albert Einstein, Michael Jackson, Barack Obama, Mahatma Gandhi are displayed to delight the visitor.

GEORGE EVEREST PEAK

Sir George Everest was a British surveyor and geographer who served as Surveyor General of India. He is best known for having ‘Mount Everest’ the highest mountain on earth, named in his honour. This peak is the major tourist attraction of Mussoorie. This peak is famous for its history, photography, nature and trekking. It takes around 30mnts to 1hr hike to reach to the top. This place is basically a grassland park with the broken house of Sir George. The panoramic view of the various Himalayan mountain ranges is sure to leave you stunned. Although the house is being maintained by the government of Uttarakhand and is open to tourists all year. Once you are here explore the walls within which this great man Sir George Everest has resided for many years or visit the local eateries and enjoy your time out there in nature.
