Tour Highlights

You shall begin the tour by going around the energetic city by visiting the Fort and Pettah. It is amazing to know that Fort is not a building but a busy commercial market, while Pettah is an open-air market. You shall also be seeing Cinnamon Gardens in the busy city. They can be called the lungs of the city. You shall be visiting many Hindu temples and churches while in town. There are Buddhist temples too. You can get a better insight into Lord Buddha and the spiritual self.

During the tour, you shall also get to spend time with rescued baby elephants at the orphanage for them. They can be seen as having fun. Such large-sized creatures can behave like babies when cared for and loved for. As a part of a little thrill for you on this tour, there shall be rock climbing at Sigiriya.

You shall be visiting the spice garden to know the spices that flavor our food better in their natural habitat and see them grow on trees in their native state. You shall also be witnessing gems being cut and polished right in front of you at the Gem Factory. It is a very rare chance to get to see this process in person. Here you can also see how different the gem is in the beginning as compared to the final product that we get.

You shall be visiting breathtaking waterfalls and tea gardens in due course of time in this tour. This tour is perfect to give you an overall view of the whole of Sri Lanka on one trip. Any entry to monuments will not be included, they will be solely at your discretion.
The tour package does not include any domestic or international transport to reach the place from where the tour begins. Air travel or train travel will have to be separately arranged by you at your own expense to reach the beginning point.

Rates are based on using standard hotels offering 3-star facilities with the option of upgrading to superior and deluxe categories offering 4 star and 5-star facilities respectively at a slight supplement.

Itinerary

DAY 01 : ARRIVAL COLOMBO - PINNAWALA - KANDY

Arrive in Sri Lanka. On arrival you will be met by our office representatives and transferred to Kandy. Enroute to your destination, you can visit one of the most important tourist attractions in Sri Lanka, the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Volunteers and caretakers provide shelter and take care of orphaned, abandoned and injured elephants within the park. You can watch caretakers feed, bathe and help these gentle giants. You want walk with the herd to the nearby river to watch the elephants bathe and play around in water. Lying amidst the hills, Kandy is the last capital of the ancient kings of Sri Lanka. While being the second largest city in Sri Lanka it is also famous for its immense beauty and is named as one of the seven UNESCO declared World Heritage sites in the country. With its luxuriant prairie, picturesque lake, longest river of the country and misty mountains, Kandy successfully mesmerizes every visitor unsurprisingly. City Tour: While on your city tour you will visit one of the world heritages as well as a sacred place for the Buddhists all over the world; namely the Temple of the Tooth Relic known to the Sri Lankans as Dalada Maligawa. DAY 02 : KANDY

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel. The real evidence of the richness will be affirmed by your visit to the Gem Museum. Sri Lanka produces the finest quality of gems in the world. Semi-precious gems, the sapphires of Sri Lanka, which are very exclusive and comes in shades of blue, red, green, white etc. In the evening you will witness a Traditional Cultural Dance Show. DAY 03 : KANDY – BENTOTA (198 Km, 4 Hrs 2 Min)

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel. Peradeniya Botanical Gardens is a paradise for nature lovers. This beautiful flower Eden is restored with over 300 different varieties of orchids, other spices, medicinal plants and Palm trees. Every year more than 1.2 million people are enchanted by the beauty of these 147 acre flower gardens. Bentota is the city of the Golden Beaches. You will be able to relax and feel the spirit of the sea and the warmth of the soft sand. The day is divided in between swimming in the water and bathing in the sun. Bentota provides the perfect turf for unfurled vacation at the beach. While enjoying the sun, sea and sand the water sports lovers can enroll themselves in various water sports bringing in the unique pleasure of this locale. City tour: On your city tour you will enjoy a boat ride along the Madhu River. It is a scenic tour relaxing and interesting while passing many islets forested with mangroves and experiencing the natural rhythms as well. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

DAY 04 : BENTOTA

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel. The Turtle Hatchery is the prime turtle nesting site that was opened by the Wildlife Protection Society in 1981. Visitors can see huge tanks filled with newborn turtle hatchlings. After being fed, the baby turtles are taken to the sea and released when they are 2-4 days old, usually during the safer hours of darkness. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

DAY 05 : BENTOTA - COLOMBO (82 Km, 1 Hrs 42 Min)

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel. Colombo is the largest city and commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Located on the west coast, it is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of modern and colonial impressions. Colombo has wildly varying architecture that span centuries and depict various styles. Many colonial buildings influenced by the Portuguese, Dutch and British exist alongside structures built in Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic, Indian and Contemporary architectural styles. No other place is this more evident in the heart of the city the Fort area. Colombo also boasts many shopping malls and department stores that offer brand name clothing at highly discounted prices. DAY 06 : COLOMBO

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel. City Tour: While on your city tour in Colombo you may visit famous places including Galle Face Green, the Viharamahadevi Park, National Museum, Twin World Trade Center towers, Old Parliament Building, Fort district, Independence Hall at Independence Square, and prominent Buddhist, Hindu, Islam and Christian places of worship. For shopping you may visit Odel, House of Fashion, Beverly Street, Majestic City, Noritake, etc. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

DAY 07 : DEPART COLOMBO

This visit is focused on guests aged 18 years or more seasoned For youngsters and child accompanied by the adults.

Tour occupancy

Minimum number for any tour date is 2 persons travelling together.
For solo travellers a single occupancy room is allocated.

Passport and Visa Requirements

All guests require a visa with a minimum validity of 6 months which should be beyond your return travel date is required for all passengers.
All Guests need visa and same should be applied in advance, do contact us for any assistance you may need.
It is the visitors responsibility to ensure they are holding the correct and current visa for the countries they are visiting.
Important: We suggest to arrange your visa at least 2-8 weeks prior to departure just incase for any delays due to consulate operating hours and processing times.

Health & vaccination

Travellers are advised to check with their local health professional at least 45 days prior to departure, as some vaccinations require 30 days or more to be effective.

Dietary Requirements

Any dietary necessities should be received by Special Holiday at least 7 days prior your scheduled departure date. Failure to provide these details by this date may result in an inability to cater for your requirements.
By and large Special Holiday tries to cater for your pre booked dietary requirements but please note that on occasion, this may not be possible due to location, lack of availability of ingredients, and other extenuating circumstances. It is always advised to carry supplies with you.

Name change or corrections

Name corrections or corrections may incur a fee.
After bookings are fully paid, any amendment has to be requested in writing and may incur a fee per person plus any additional costs and administrative expenses incurred in arranging the amendment.
